I love being a local at a few places. When you’re a local the owner treats you better, they make room for you when they’re overbooked, they comp you, they sneak you a free desert.

One of my favorite spots, the Fog City Diner, even gave me a plaque to hang on their wall to memorialize me as such.

The local in me loves this new update feature from Foursquare. Tips, specials and offers from my favorite spots are good for them and great for enhancing my Foursquare experience. 

A business model that goes with the grain of a service. As it should be.
